Progress on MY Christmas Quilt

Over Christmas break I picked up a UFO of me. Last year I made a hand quilted quilt for each of my children. I loved them so much that I decided to make me one. I got the strip sets made and cut before it got put away.

This year I got the top finished. Then, I was going to be traveling, so I thought I might have time to hand quilt. That was the incentive I needed to keep going.

I am sure I didn’t do it right, but I spray basted they quilt together. Then I bound it. Now I am quilting it with crochet thread. It isn’t as tight as it could be, but it is easy to quilt on the go. That is what I needed.

Today since I took off my Christmas pillowcase, I made a new pillowcase to match my quilt that may take me a year to finish!  Sometimes it is alright to start a project that will take a while!
